Anna immigrated to the U.S. arriving at Ellis Island, NY on 12 January 1939. The ship’s manifest indicates that she was 4’4″ tall and had dark hair and brown eyes. She was especially small even for an Italian woman at that time.

Anna appeared in the 1940 U.S. Census on Pine Ridge Road in Cromwell, CT, widowed. She was residing with her son Sebastiano and his family.

According to Jim Sanzaro, Anna’s grandson and son of Sebastiano (Michael) (above), Anna returned to Melilli and died there.
