Charles Ludlam

Charles was born on 27 January 1691 to Joseph Ludlam and Elizabeth (?). His father’s 2nd wife, Elizabeth Townsend, is said to be Charles’ step-mother. [see wikitree profile here].

Charles had at least three siblings, all older than he. His sister, Clemence, is also an ancestor of ours.

At the age of 30, Charles married Elizabeth Wright (or Townsend), and the two had seven children:

  3. Henry, b.16 Oct 1722, m. Naomi Feke

  7. Susannah, b.1833, m. Richard Hallock

Charles died on 1 November 1769 in Centre Island, New York at the age of 78, and was buried in Ludlam Smith Burial Ground, Centre Island. View his findagrave record here.

Naomi Feke

7th great-grandparent – 1 of 512 504 in this generation

Neomah “Naomi” Feke was born on 4 August 1731 in Oyster Bay, New York, the only child of John Feke (or Feake), 24, and Abigail Wright, 18.

Naomi was 16 when her father passed away on 9 March 1748 in Oyster Bay at the age of 41.

Prior to 1750, around the age of 17, she married 28-year-old Henry Ludlam, the son of Charles Ludlam and Elizabeth Wright (or Townsend). Their daughter, Susanna, was born in 1758 in Centre Island.

Naomi and Henry were probably Quakers like their family members.

Naomi was 60 when her husband, Henry, passed away on 7 August 1791 in Oyster Bay at the age of 68. She outlived him by 14 years. Naomi died on 23 July 1806 Centre Island at the age of 74.  Naomi was buried in the Ludlam Smith Burial Ground, Centre Island. View her findagrave.com record here.

Henry Ludlam

Henry was born on 16 October 1722, in Oyster Bay, Queens, New York, to Charles Ludlam, 31, and Elizabeth Wright, 29.

At about the age of 26, in about 1748, Henry married Naomi Feke. His daughter, Susanna, was born when Henry was about 36 years old.

Henry and Naomi were likely to be Quakers like their family members.

Henry was 33 when his mother died on September 2, 1756, in Long Island City, New York, at the age of 63.

Henry Ludlam died on 7 August 1791, in Oyster Bay at the age of 68. He was buried in Centre Island (a hamlet of Oyster Bay).

 

Anna Jones

Anna was born on 13 August 1742 in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, to , and Caleb Jones, 29 and Mary Frisbie, 30.

At the age of 20, on August 11, 1763, Anna married 20-year-old  Joshua Post in the Congregational Church of Old Saybrook. They had 10 children:

Anna was 44 when her father died in Cornwall, Connecticut, at the age of 74. She was 46 when her mother died in New Lebanon, New York, at the age of 77.

Her husband, Joshua, passed away on 10 June 1825 in Westbrook, Connecticut, at the age of 82. They had been married 61 years.

Henry Sherrill

Henry was born in 1710 in East Hampton, Suffolk, New York, to Recompence Sherrill, 38, and Sarah Parsons, 34.

When Henry was just 2 years old, his mother died on 25 November 1712, in East Hampton at the age of 36. The following year, his father married Margaret Cady when Henry was 3.

At the age of 26, on 1 November 1726, Henry married Jane Conkling at the Presbyterian Church in East Hampton. This marriage produced eight children:

  2. Lucy, b. about 1739
  3. Sarah, b. about 1741
  4. Mary, b. about 1747
  5. Samuel, b. about 1748
  6. Keziah, b. about 1750
  7. Henry, b.29 Sep 1753
  8. Jane, born in January 1759 in Westbrook, Middlesex, Connecticut

Just a year after his youngest child was born, Henry died in East Hampton, New York, at the age of 50.

Jedediah Chapman, Jr.

Jedediah Chapman, Jr. was born on 15 December 1726 in Connecticut to Hester Kirtland and Jedediah Chapman, Sr.

At the age of about 29, in about 1755, Jedediah married 24-year-old Mary Grinnell.

Jedediah and Mary had eight children, including Captain Jedediah, III.

“He was a prominent man in church and civil affairs. He was chosen Deacon of the Church at Westbrook Nov. 8, 1771 and served in that capacity until his death.”

Jedediah served as deacon of the church in Westbrook for over 44 years and was a justice of the peace for 20 years.

Joseph Magloire Saint Amand

Joseph Magloire Saint Amand was born on 17 March 1754 in Deschambault, Portneuf, Quebec, Canada, to Marie-Josephte Marcotte, 36, and Louis-Joseph Robert dit St. Amant, 53.

When Joseph was 13, his father died in Deschambault at the age of 66.

When Joseph was 28, on 4 February 1783, he married 18-year-old Marie-Théotiste Groleau in Deschambault.

His mother died on 5 September 1785 in Deschambault at the age of 67. Joseph was 31.

When Joseph was 45, his daughter, Marie-Anne Carufel, was born on 12 March 1800 in Quebec City, Quebec. Presumably, there were other children.

Nine years later, Joseph lost his wife on 13 May 1809 in Deschambault. She was 44 and they had been married 26 years.

Joseph lived another 26 years and died at the age of 81 on 1 April 1835 in Deschambault.

 

 

Marie-Theotiste Groleau

Marie-Théotiste was born on 2 December 1764 in Deschambault, Portneuf, Quebec, Canada, to Marie Isabelle Frenet, age 38, and Pierre-Joseph Groleau, age 46.

At the age of 18, on 4 February 1783, she married Joseph Magloire Saint Amand in Deschambault, Quebec, Canada.

When Théotiste was 22, her father died in Deschambault, Quebec, Canada, at the age of 68.

She was 28 when her mother died in Portneuf, Quebec, Canada, at the age of 66.

Théotiste’s daughter, Marie-Anne Carufel, was born on 12 March 12 1800 in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

Théotiste died on 13 May 1809 in Deschambault at the age of 44.

Marie-Louise LaRose

Marie-Louise was born to unknown parents on 18 October 1772 in St Charles sur Richelieu, Quebec, Canada.

At the age of 21, on 7 July 1794, she married Antoine Letourneau, II in St Charles sur Richelieu.

Her place and date of death have not been discovered at the time of this posting.

 

Antoine Letourneau

Antoine Letourneau was born on 26 Oct 1774 in Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu, La Vallée-du-Richelieu, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Antoine Letourneau and Marie Francoise Chagnon.

At the age of 19, Antoine married Marie Louise Larose. They would have 11 children during their marriage. His firstborn was Antoine Letourneau, Jr.

His date and place of death are unknown at this time.
