Jane was born on 22 February 1714 in East Hampton, New York, to Mary Mulford, 40, and David Conklin, 47. She was the youngest of 11 children. Her mother died within just a few weeks of Jane’s birth.

Jane’s 1st cousin was Rachel Conkling.

At the age of 22, on 1 November 1736, Jane married Henry Sherril at the Presbyterian Church in East Hampton.

Jane and Henry had at least one child:

1. Jane, b. Jan 1759 East Hampton, NY

When she was 24, her father died on 4 December 1738 in East Hampton at the age of 71.

Jane’s husband, Henry, passed away in 1760 in East Hampton at the age of 50. They had been married 24 years.

Jane died on 23 April 1798, in Richmond, Massachusetts, at the age of 84, and is buried there in Cone Hill Cemetery. Click here for her record on findagrave.com.
