Claudius Louis Alexander Betlenger, Jr.

Fourth great-grandparent – 1 of 64 in this generation

(1802-1882)

“C.L.A.” or “Alexander” was born on 12 November 1802 to Claudius Louis Alexander Betlenger, Sr. and Marion Williamson. He may have been born in New York City. Alexander’s father died the year he was born, but no details are currently available.

At the age of 40, Alexander married Anna Cecelia Harbeck in 1842 in Albany, New York. Two years prior to his marriage, he appeared living with four other people in Islip, NY. Perhaps the four other people were family members, but it is a mystery at this point. Alexander has not been found in the 1830 census, but he appears in the 1850-80 U.S. censuses in Islip, NY.
