Marion Williamson was the daughter of Alexander Williamson and Marion Crawford. She was born in Scotland on 4 September 1781 and immigrated to the U.S. prior to 1800.

Marion married Claudius Louis Alexander Betlenger, Sr. around 1800-1801 at the age of about 19 or 20. Her first child, Claudius Louis Alexander Betlenger, Jr., was born on 12 November 1802. Her husband died the same year, either before or after the birth of their son.

Marion remarried to Charles Betts and lived to the age of 80. She died in Islip, New York on 28 August 1862 and was buried in Babylon Rural Cemetery, Babylon, New York.
