Daniel Canada was born on 19 June 1730, in Windham, Connecticut, to Margaret Lambert and David Kennedy. He was the 5th of 6 children.

At the very respectable age of 33, Daniel married Ruhamah Preston in Windham on 17 November 1763.

He was 36 when his daughter, Chloe, was born in Windham on 19 September 1766.

Daniel Canada died on 26 February 1812 in Connecticut when he was 81 years old. He was buried in Olde Mansfield Cemetery in Mansfield.
