Mehetable was born on 18 February 1722 in Mansfield, Connecticut, to James Hall, 39 and Mehetable Wood, 26.

When Mehetable was 20, her father died on 16 June 1742 in Mansfield at the age of 59.

At 23, she married Ezekiel Slate in Mansfield on 30 January 1746.

Her mother died on 27 October 1758 in Mansfield at the age of 62. Mehetable was 36.

At the age of 43, she gave birth to her youngest child, Sarah “Elsey” Slate, who was born in Mansfield on 14 January 1766.

Her husband, Ezekiel, passed away on 9 January 1792 in Mansfield at the age of 72. They had been married 45 years.

Mehetable died in Mansfield at the age of 81, on 7 December 1803. She was buried next to her husband in the Olde Mansfield Center Cemetery.
